Multi Account Support Added to Linux E Mail App ‘Geary’

Multi Account Support Added to Linux E Mail App ‘Geary’

A new release of desktop e-mail app Geary is now available, and adds a number of significant improvements over previous versions.

Geary, made by Yorba, the same development team behind photo app Shotwell, is billed as a ‘lightweight’ alternative to bigger, bulkier apps like Thunderbird or Evolution.

It take much of its inspiration from web-mai clients like Gmail. To this end it organizes your mail into ‘conversations’ rather than threads, whilst also adding some rich functionality – including Ubuntu desktop support – into proceedings.

Gmail and Yahoo! Mail are supported out of the box, with manual IMAP set-up available for other providers.

So that’s what Geary is, but what’s new in this release? Let’s take a look…

More Lehman Documents The NY Feds Blow by Blow Account

More Lehman Documents The NY Feds Blow by Blow Account

Since people seem to like the bits of information from the Lehman Examiners Report, Ill keep going. Ive got plenty more where that came from!

This is probably my favorite document from the Examiners Report — its a compilation of the daily reports from the NY Feds on-site examiners at Lehman. It covers August 15, 2008 through September 11, 2008. Its as close as it gets to an official blow-by-blow account of Lehmans downfall, and it contains all the relevant information — daily updates on Lehmans repo funding, commercial paper, liquidity pool, and CDS spreads, as well as market color from Lehmans treasury and from other primary dealers. This is what Tim Geithner and (I have to imagine) Hank Paulson were seeing every day.

To read it chronologically, which you really should, you have to start from the bottom. I OCRd it and ran a bookmark program (because Im that OCD), so you should be able to navigate to specific days. I have a similar compilation that covers July 1 – July 23, which Ill post as well if people want.

Enjoy! (If you enjoy this kind of thing)
