As a kid growing up in the Philadelphia area it was hard not to be swept up in a love for sports.  The early 80s was a great time for us.
The Phillies won the series in 1980 and went back two more times in just three years.
The Eagles went to the Superbowl in 1980 after winning their first NFC title.
The Flyers were on a tear that brought them handfuls of conference championships.
And finally you had the 76ers.
Its probably hard for younger generations to imagine it, because weve had nothing but dogs for far too long on the team, but back in the day, the 76ers were it.  They won conference titles, division titles, and the NBA Championship in 1983.  And sure, there were a bunch of studs on the team, but the man who put asses in the seats (and made them jump out of them, for sure) was Julius Erving.  The doctor.
Dr. J was Michael Jordan before Michael Jordan.  Remember that this is before the days of highlight films and ESPN, and that many of Docs most amazing moves occurred before games were broadcast like they are now.  Youll see in some of the pics below, I mean, just look at the elevation he got on his dunks.  Look at the grace and majesty as he slams it down.
Im not a big basketball fan nowadays.
I despise Kobe Bryant and find it hard to cheer for the overpaid crybabies in Miami.  I could probably only name a handful of guys that play for the Sixers, and probably a few of them were traded and I dont know it. But when you look at Doc palming that red white and blue ABA basketball, his afro and beard bigger than life, you know youre looking at a giant.

Sabtu lalu (15/11), Komunitas blogger Surabaya | TUGU PAHLAWAN.COM mengadakan kunjungan ke museum kesehatan yang terletak di jalan Indrapura nomor 17 Surabaya.

Museum santet ( julukan museum kesehatan dimata masyarakat Surabaya) dirintis oleh DR. Dr. Haryadi Soeparto, DOR, M.Sc tahun 1990. Pada hari selasa, 14 September 2004 Menteri Kesehatan RI Dr. dr. Siti Fadilah Supari, Sp.JP(K) meresmikan museum kesehatan dengan mana museum kesehatan dr. Adhyatma, MPH ( Surat keputusan menteri kesehatan RI nomor 1012/MENKES/SK/IX/2004).

Saat tiba di depan museum, para pengunjung diwajibkan membayar tiket masuk sebesar Rp.1500/orang dan akan diantar oleh seorang pemandu museum. Beragam koleksi alat - alat kesehatan tadisional dan modern dipajang dalam museum yang memiliki luas bangunan 755,82 meter persegi itu.

Koleksi benda - benda kesehatan yang ada pada museum menceritakan awal perkembangan kesehatan muncul hingga sekarang, beragam foto tokoh - tokoh kesehatan di Indonesia hingga mancanegara, sejarah pengobatan bangsa timur dan barat, pakaian dokter jawa, dokter spesialis, serta benda - benda yang unik, mistis pun dipajang pada museum kesehatan ( benda - benda unik dan mistis, antara lain : peta makhluk halus, celana anti pemerkosaan, alat kontrasepsi beragam bentuk dan ukuran, mikroskop, sneiltchart proyektor, peralatan operasi mata, braille, mantra - mantra kesehatan, jimat, pemotong tali pusat, tongkat vagina, aksesoris aura, jaringan operasi dukun, quija, jailangkung ninik towok, hingga air yang memiliki kekuatan majik ).

Dalam museum kesehatan dibagi dalam beberapa ruang pamer yang setiap ruangannya mempunyai ciri khas khusus mengenai ilmu kesehatan di dalam maupun luar negeri, antara lain :

1. Sasana Adhyatma
2. Sasana Kencana
3. Sasana Kesehatan Reproduksi
4. Sasana Genetika
5. Sasana Kesehatan Budaya
6. Sasana Fauna
7. Sasana Medik dan non Medik
