My Very Best Festival Look

My Very Best Festival Look

I loved the outfit that I wore for day one of Made in America SO much but for day two, I wanted to go all-out festival. You know, gold chains, bralette, and some breezy trousers. I might never be able to wear something like this again so I had a lot of fun with this look. I even dared to wear a stacked heel. I think it was a pretty good decision.

One year ago, I would have never worn an outfit like this to a place filled with so many people. I am NOT a thin girl and though I love me a good crop top, still get pretty self-conscious about my midriff and more so, my arms. Ive come to terms with the fact that theyre always going to be a bit on the... beefy(?) side but usually hide them under baggy, oversized tees. To add some festival flair to the simplistic bralette/wide-leg trouser combination, I went all out with my accessories. I donned my favorite head chain, a long gold necklace, then layered two chokers. I finished off the look with a teeny tiny beaded crossbody bag and some lace-up heels.

Just like with day one, I kept my makeup pretty simple, since I knew it would last maybe... 20 minutes? At the most? Just some mascara, pink eyeshadow, and my favorite liner and lipstick. (Whirl and Velvet Teddy.)

I think it was the perfect look to say "farewell" to summer. (Though I know summer isnt actually over yet.)

I found a good post in server fault on how we can speed up drop index in big table in MySQL. Here is the scripts.
CREATE TABLE patient_new LIKE patient;
ALTER TABLE patient_new DROP INDEX post_text;
ALTER TABLE patient_new DISABLE KEYS;
INSERT INTO patient_new SELECT * FROM patient;
ALTER TABLE patient_new ENABLE KEYS;
ALTER TABLE patient RENAME patient_old;
ALTER TABLE patient_new RENAME patient;
DROP TABLE patient_old;

My Very Brief Review of Halo Reach

My Very Brief Review of Halo Reach

Every game should have jetpacks.

(Actually, maybe a little explanation. My wife and I play every Halo and Gears of War game together in co-op. Its happy-close-couple-relationship-time.)

(Sadly, the single-player components of Halo games have gotten painfully phoned in. The kick-ass set pieces of Halo 3 have degenerated into long, tedious sequences of interchangeable roads and warehouses.)

(But Halo: Reach has JETPACKS. And that is AWESOME. For the three minutes it lets you play with them.)

(Every mission in Halo: Reach should give you jetpacks. You should be able to boing-boing-boing all over the dang place.)

(Actually, whats more, every game should have jetpacks. Dragon Age. Minecraft. Farmville. Rock Band. EVERY game.)

(Tetris should have jetpacks.)

(Jetpacks.)

My Very Best Ivy League

My Very Best Ivy League

Ah, the most perfect Autumn day in Princeton. This quaint New Jersey town is so perfect in the fall. Lively streets, cozy coffee shops, and close to so many apple orchards and pumpkin patches. What else could you want? We took Charlie Kelly for a little walk and decided that the two of us looked too good to not snap a few pics. (Especially since the last time Charlie posed with me was over a year ago!)

If youve never been to Princeton but want to plan a trip, I recommend starting in Palmer Square and working your way out. Some things to not miss? The Bent Spoon, Princeton Record Exchange, Small World Coffee, Infini-T Café, and, of course, Mamouns Falafel.

I use a casual walk down Nassau Street as an excuse to dress my preppiest. (It is an Ivy League campus, after all.) For me, this means color-blocking, chunky knits, and a satchel of some sort. I also added my beloved checkered Vans, just to switch it up a little bit. Ive never been the waxed jacket and equestrian boots kinda gal.

Now that jacket weather is officially here, and seemingly here to stay, Im thinking looks like these will be getting a lot of wear around town.
