Here is "my life squared", some of the moments I captured this week.
It has been SO cold here the last week that some chicken noodle soup sounded wonderful. My Mom made homemade chicken noodle soup when I was a kid and I loved it, although it took her most of the day. She made her own stock, made her own egg noodles and so on. Since I dont have time or desire to be in the kitchen all day I came up with this easy recipe.
Quick & Easy Chicken Noodle Soup
1 Rotisserie Chicken
2 cans of Chicken Broth (or boxes) of 48oz each
1 stack of celery chopped
2 or 3 large carrots chopped
1 package of Buitoni Fettuccine
1 cup of White Instant Rice
Salt and Pepper to taste
Combine broth, celery & carrots in a large pot, over high heat bring to a boil. Cut rotisserie chicken (I only use the breast meat, personal choice) into chunks. Cut pasta in half (I dislike long noodles in my soup, too sloppy). When broth and veggies are bowling add the rice, noodles, and chicken. Cover and turn heat to low for 10 minutes then serve.

My weekend sewing project. Made myself and Aly "Foxy" sweatshirts.
Christmas shopping with my Tyler. BTW he didnt find a thing and is still on the hunt! Nothing like waiting until the last minute like his mama.
Every week I meet Dawn (my bestie and business partner) at either Target or Starbucks. This week it was at Target (which has a Starbucks), discussing new ideas and products for D & P Celebrations. I LOVE our meetings!!
Tylers teacher entered one of his videos into a Film Festival contest. He wasnt chosen, but the producer said he loved the video and thought it was funny! Tys style is dry humor, think Monty Python or Kids in the Hall. Here is the link to his video "Karma".

Here is "My Life Squared", some of the moments I captured this week.
Friday I surprised the kids with cupcakes to celebrate only one week of school left before Winter break. I love having my kids home, we have so much fun together!
Saturday Aly had an all day playdate with her best friend. She went to see Frozen and went shopping. Her BFFs Mom bought Aly "Fairbanks" the Beanie Boo Penguin for Christmas. She was exhausted when she came home, but was SO happy! FYI its gonna be a Beanie Boo kind of Christmas this year.
Sunday I made some home made hand warmers for gifts. Little "pillows" stuffed with rice, that you can microwave for 15 seconds at a time until desired heat is reached. Nice for getting or keeping your hands warm or for aches and pains. Not sure where this sewing bug has come from although I know I wouldnt want to do it for a living...no patience! HA!
Monday was Home made hand scrub day. I saw that my friend Staci over at Lizzard and Ladybug made these and knew they would be a great gift for teachers and friends. Small mason jar, fill 3/4 full of sugar then cover top with moisturizing soap (I found some peppermint soap in Targets dollar spot), stir and add more soap if needed. I found these great spoon/scoops made by Dixie and paired one with each jar.
Tuesday, I get a text from my DH and he wants to know if I know how to make fudge.....PaLEase!!!
Guess who made 3 different flavored batches of fudge for their hubby to take to work that night.
Dark Chocolate Fudge
Melt together over double boiler:
3 C Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
1qty 14oz can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 C Small Marshmallows
Add a dash of salt + 1tsp Vanilla
Pour into a 9" x 9" parchment lined baking pan and chill for at least 2 hours then cut & try not to eat the whole pan at once.
Wednesday night I wanted something easy for dinner that would give up some left overs for a couple of days. Voila the lasagna casserole!
3-4 C cooked Elbow Noodles
1lb cooked Ground Beef
1lb cooked Italian Sausage
45 oz Pasta Sauce
24 oz Cottage Cheese
4-6 C of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the cooked ground beef and italian sausage together with the sauce.
Layer ingredients into a 9"x 13" pan.
Start with a skimpy layer of sauce (just to keep the noodles from sticking)
then a layer of plain noodles
layer of cottage cheese
layer of mozzarella cheese
layer of sauce
repeat and add a layer of mozzarella to the top.
Bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
Thursday we surprised Aly with a new dress and a visit to see Santa. I cant believe my baby is almost 9 years old. She told us that a lot of her friends dont believe, but she still does. I cried...

Here is "My Life Squared", some of the moments I captured over the past several weeks. (Holiday Break)
My daughter had a Beanie Boo themed Christmas. I just might be addicted too! Come on, look at those big eyes!!
On the 28th our oldest turned 17. For his birthday dinner he wanted The Cheesecake Factory, no complaints here!
On the 4th we had a Beanie Boo themed sleep over birthday party for Aly and one of her friends. Who knew Beanie Boos loved Paris and fashion??
On the 6th we celebrated Alys 9th birthday at her place of choice, Texas Roadhouse. Yes, my daughter wanted to go there for the Mac-n-cheese and most of all, to ride on the saddle and be sung to. Goofy girl!
Lots of board games over break, even our dog Gracie wanted to play. What better way to end the long break, Christmas and two birthdays. Glad things are getting back to normal. I am exhausted!

Why Its Awesome: It feels like a cop-out to say "This is awesome because it is cheap", but Im going to say it anyways. At $9.99 for 0.36 ounces, this is the most cost-effective neon eyeshadow palette on the market. Its vibrant, pigmented, and inexpensive as fuck.

Why Its Awesome: This is a creamsicle orange blush that feels like a wearable coral. It gives the perfect natural finish without being overly or insufficiently pigmented. And, seriously, dont pretend you dont see how beautiful that packaging is. I could stare at it all day.

6. Sigma Beauty Crème de Couture Eyeshadow Palette

Why Its Awesome: Its hard not to get excited about such vibrant, pigmented pastels. This palette is completely unlike anything else. Beyond that, its significant in size! At $32 for 0.85oz, I paid a mere $37.65 per ounce of product here.
7. Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow

Why Its Awesome: Hollow is so easy to use and blend that it makes contouring virtually foolproof. Even flat-faces like myself can fake cheekbones with its easily blendable formula and natural-looking, shadow-mimicking color. Its the holy grail of contouring for pale skin.
8. NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Blue

Why Its Awesome: Not only is this color electric, this eyeliner is all-but-permanent. This will last through tears, face-rubbing, and exercise, all while being the color of an aquarium crayfish.
9. My Pretty Zombie "Drugs Like Me" Blush in MDMA

Why Its Awesome: MDMA is a natural, glowing pink with a huge kick of golden shimmer. Its the kind of universally flattering shade that will remind you of springtime and/or let you plaster your love of springtime on your face.

Why Its Awesome: The LORAC Pro Palette is, by a large margin, the best neutral palette I have ever tried. The wide range of shades and the 50/50 mix of mattes and shimmers makes this versatile as fuck.
