My Story of and how you can avoid Exercise Addiction
Finding and living with a balance in regards to weight loss, no matter how much or little, is what my blog and mission is all about. Since I have battled such extensive self-esteem and weight issues all of my life, I have been at the end of both extremes: exercising way too much or not much at all.
When I first started exercising at 13 years old, my step-mom told me that if I stuck with it, I would hate not exercising -- that it would feel odd and not right to miss days. Initially, I thought she was crazy and there way no way that could happen.
However, it absolutely did. Two weeks into regular exercise, I was in love and a brand new hobby that I enjoyed immensely was developed. Being that young though, I did not understand the importance of resting my body and switching up workouts. I battled this problem until I was about 22 years old.
If I missed a scheduled workout, my world crumbled. If I was sick and I had a workout planned, I would still go. If I was invited to a party, event, festival, etc. and it interfered with the gym and working out, I would never go. If I planned a rest day because I was very store and/or tired, a few hours into the afternoon and evening, I would be driving myself crazy, then end up going to the gym. I had to exercise; if I didnt, all of my hard work would come undone by missing that single workout.
That is unbelievably dramatic and most of all false, but that was how my mind worked. I was an extremist, and I am still fighting that to this day. I was either all in at 120% or at negative 120%. If I missed that planned workout for some reason, I would cry and refuse to go out or be seen because of how disgusting I felt. At times, I would cancel plans to go with my friends because I had missed my workout and felt I did not deserve to go out. I felt by missing that workout, I had put on 20 pounds.
When I put on the significant amount of weight at end of 2012 and throughout most of 2013, I knew when I lost weight for the second time, I had to dig exceptionally deep inside of myself and tackle all of my food, exercise, and self-esteem issues that I had been suppressing for so long; not resolving.
If you feel yourself or you know someone feeling this way about exercise and working out, this post is for you.
The first thing I had to realize is that I did not put all of my weight on overnight and I was definitely not going to lose it that soon. It is much easier to gain weight than lose weight; which is why so much of the United States is obese. Fat loss is achieved by being consistent. You are still consistent if a workout is missed. Learning your body is the best thing you can do for yourself. You may have your workouts scheduled for the entire week, then after a couple of them, you are more sore than you thought. When it is a hurting kind of sore, you absolutely need to rest your body so the muscles can repair. Another extremely important thing to teach yourself is the difference between "tired" and "fatigued". The days where you feel "ugh, I so dont feel like working out, Im tired", you absolutely should still exercise. However, if you are chronically tired, feeling overly sluggish throughout the day, and having a hard time staying focused or motivated, that is usually your body begging for rest to recover.
Below could be signs of over-exercise:
- excessive weight loss -- this is usually muscle, not fat
- undernourishment
- menstruation problems in women
- fatigue
- isolation and weakened social relationships
- irritability
- frequent injuries
There are consequences to over exercising. The body can enter a catabolic state, in which muscle (NOT fat) tissues are broken down to fuel immediate needs. In short: muscle is burned and the fat is stored. Additionally, one can develop microscopic tears in muscle fibers,; which if unable to repair because of extreme exercise is still being continued, could lead to permanent injuries. Immune systems are actually weakened from over-exercise, which is why when I would still workout when I was sick, I would take significantly longer to heal. Other issues are bone problems, especially in women, and insomnia.
Weight loss is hard. It is simple, but very hard. It requires dedication and consistency, but it is also absolutely imperative that someone have a balance while trying. You can drive yourself crazy if you dont. You can miss out so much in life if you dont. Being fit and healthy should be lifestyle; not your entire life. As I always like to say and remember, and what helps me often times is that yes I may mess up - especially lately, but every second I am alive, its a chance for me to get it right. If I had a cupcake yesterday after having my cheat meal the day before, there is nothing I can do it about now. Its done. But I can make a healthy choice today. I can push harder on my training. I can ensure I eat enough to fight cravings.
This journey is all about learning to believe in yourself and know that if you just keep going and trying, the results you want will happen.
I am now 11 months into my weight loss journey. I wanted to be at a 90 pound loss at this time, however, I am at 65 pounds. I am disappointed, I will not lie and say that I am not, but I know the journey can still be continued. I am alive today, I am healthy today, and that means I can keep going and pushing myself and my 100 pound weight loss goal will absolutely be achieved.

Director of the same movie, Vishal Pandya’s recent take is Wajah Tum Ho and he has certainly learned from his past errors.

Wajah Tum Ho stars Sana Khan, Sharman Joshi, Gurmeet Choudhary, Rajniesh Duggal in lead positions and is a good suspense thriller.

Know the story!
A covered man kills a cop, and shows the whole show LIVE across all programs of a press group .
The victim is made to drink petrol.
Hitler punishment!
Rahul Oberoi (Rajniesh Duggal) CEO of the press group is taken into the custody by inspector Kabir Deshmukh (Sharman Joshi).
It is proved by Rahul’s lawyer/legal group head/object of desire Sia (Sana Khan), live show was done through satellite tv hacking, and Rahul has nothing do with it.
Cops is represented by lawyer Ranveer Bajaj (Gurmeet Choudhary), who happens to be Sia’s lover as well.
Before they all can pin down the actual real culprit, a second killing is showed live.
The search for the culprit, the back story, reason behind the killings, and the character’s connections makes the story interesting.
What’s attractive
The story is exciting and clean and is created even more fascinating with the bgm.
People, actually watch an ice block melting live on Facebook, how would you feel to see a live and a torturous murder.
But the movie should not be watched with logic!
Sharman Joshi has done his role to par excellence.
Fortunately no sexual moments are related to him like Hate Story 3. (But his character senses some very apparent clues, and act like Sherlock.)
There are good twists in the movie and the final fight is also very good!
Movie lacks....
The story about live murder is good, but not researched much.
It has unnecessary dialogues and songs and the story is dragging.
There is no strong basement for any character in the film. Sana Khan has no more exposure for her role in the movie.
Although she had three strong scenes to prove her caliber, still she didnt do justice to her roles .
She cries twice in the film, and that will not make you cry.
Despite being marked as the most brilliant personality in the movie, Sia (Sana) provides the most ridiculous dialogues. Sana could recognized herself as a celebrity, but probably would only be kept in mind by filmmakers when it will come to prime roles.
It is to decide if Gurmeet is an excellent or bad acting professional in Wajah Tum Ho.
What to do
Wajah Tum Ho is far far better than Hate Story 2 and 3.
Though it is most definitely not the side of your chair suspense thriller, it is not insanely bad either. In India where we enjoy good to watch movie atleast once, Wajah Tum Ho can easily be your end of the week pleasure. But if you are a man/woman of logic then this is not your cup of tea.

My final Story Auction piece
My final Story Auction piece
"Nina Light Reading" was done in Gouache on pastel board. My thanks to Ted Mathot for giving her a good home and that very generous contribution.
I love a nap. The auction was held last Friday and it was a roaring success. Ive been very busy of late and yet its a good busy--the only kind I welcome. Somehow with even less time than usual I managed to help out in the Story Auction and make pieces for it. Of course I drove Shannon Ryan mad (shes our Story manager on UP and shoots lazers from her red haired head). But thats part of the fun I was talking about. Shes gonna kill me next week.
It was a blast. So much fun. It was like a fiesta and people attending were having such a great time, some even remarked that we should do this more often. If it wasnt so hard to organize alongside work we probably would. At the night of the auction this piece had the single highest bid during silent auction.
My thanks to all of Pixar Story for being the stars of the show. You guys and gals ROCK! All of the volunteers who traded in more extra hours of their free time to organize and run all the details of the show. You are all rock stars. To all who participated by buying art, appreciating it and making the event a grand success, thank you, thank you!

MS Dhonis trailer will blow your mind, even if you dont love cricket.So the massively awaited trailer of MS Dhoni’s biopic finally dropped and it has really given us goose-bumps. In many ways MS Dhoni is a trail-blazer, the likes of which we’ve never seen in Indian sports. For starters, he managed to reach the very top without backing, despite not belonging to any of the powerful lobbies in cricket. Add to that the fact that he had the most un-Indian demeanour of Indian sportsmen, the ice-cold nerves which never betray pressure in the most intense situations means that MS Dhoni is a sportsman unlike any other.

Why MSD left MS Dhoni: The Untold Story trailer launch in a huff?
Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who attended the trailer launch of the film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story based on his real life, left the event without interacting with the media. The trailer launch witnessed a packed hall filled with his fans who were cheering and whistling for him. The trailer of MSDs biopic landed on Thursday night to applause from all quarters. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role.
When some journalists questioned the director of the film, Neeraj Pandey, on why Dhoni left without interacting with the media, Neeraj said: "Thats not my call as you would understand and its not my place to answer on his behalf also. He is an individual who has his own choices. I dont know what the reason is and you cant ask this question to me because I am the wrong person. It should have been informed and I apologise on that behalf."
When asked if Dhoni is he worried or nervous about this film, he said: "I am not worried at all as I have confidence in the crew. Right from the start we were in the same page. I have seen his (Neeraj Pandey) films and I like how he puts things on screen. We were clear right from the beginning that we do not want to make a movie which makes me a hero or glamorises me. It was more about the journey so that people can relate to it. At the end of the day, when you reach the goal, its the small decisions that you take has the impact."
Dhoni also apologised the crowd for the delay. He said, "Sorry to keep you guys waiting as far as the promotion of the movie is concerned we have been to Jalandar, Delhi and now here in Mumbai. The kind of response we have got so far is fantastic I think we have got good reception so far. A lot of things get delayed because of weather as far as the promotion is concerned I am happy that I am part of it as I have the time."
Recalling his interaction with Dhoni at the beginning of the project, Sushant said, "For the first time, I have seen Dhoni losing his cool. First two to three days I asked him some questions and he answered them calmly. Then he said you ask lot of questions, let me come back. I was just asking him one question in different ways again and again." Adding to this Dhoni said: "He (Sushant) used to ask one question repeatedly and if he gets similar answer then he used to believe that I am being honest and then he used to go to next question. It was a bit awkward initially to speak about yourself. After 15 minutes you get bored talking about yourself and I was like I need a break, I am going."
