Dhoni, has led India for 199 ODIs, 60 tests and 72 T20Is and is the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket. Inspite of stepping down, Dhoni will be available for selection for the upcoming England ODI and T20 series that’s to begin by January 15.

So does that means, the Indian ODI team will be playing under the able leadership of Virat Kohli? With the World Cup matches only two years away and the Champions Trophy scheduled to start from 1st June, 2017; Kohli has to chart down the future course of action for the young ODI squad along with Anil Kumble as the coach.

MS Dhoni quits as captain, the upsetting news really made the cricket lovers sad because now onwards you can’t see him in the role of a captain. No other captain till date, has led his team in so many international matches (Tests, ODIs, T20Is) than Dhoni ; 331. Ricky Ponting is in the second position with 324.

Under Dhonis leadership India won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011, ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and let the team into the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup. He reached the top of the Test rankings in 2009.

Ayaj Memon tweeted that he sincerely hope that MS Dhoni will continue to be a significant part of the team.

It is widely known that under his leadership, Indian team has embraced new heights and his achievements will remain engraved forever in the records of Indian cricket.

The BCCIs senior selection committee is supposed to meet on Friday and announce the Indian cricket team for the 3-match ODI and the subsequent 3 T20Is.

Several people expressed their opinion on the retirement decision of MS Dhoni and one among them quoted Vijay Merchant that one must quit when people asks why and not why not ; With this comparison, the person said that MS Dhoni did exactly the same and again showed how wise he is.

After their loss in the five-match Test series 0-4, England will return from their Christmas and New Year break for the limited over leg of the tour, which starts with the two practice games on January 10 and 12.

The first ODI will is scheduled to be held in Pune on January 15 followed by the 2nd and 3rd games on January 19 and 22 at Cuttack and Kolkata respectively.

Recently a biopic has been made with the title MS Dhoni-The Untold Story which was a way much acclaimed movie of last year.
